Bissell ProHeat 2X Healthy Home Deep Cleaner

The Bissell ProHeat 2X Healthy Home Deep Cleaner effectively tackled dirt and stains in our tests and comes with some handy bells and whistles. One noteworthy standout: a built-in heater that warms the cleaning solution, which helps boost cleaning performance. ($330; bissell.com)

• Easy to clean after use, since there's one tank for clean and recovered water.
• Offers a spot-cleaning feature that sprays a concentrated stream of cleaning solution directly onto stains.
• Controls are easy to understand and use.

• It's heavy and may be tough to push around.

• Solution and water must be mixed in a separate bucket and poured into the tank, which can be messy.

Kenmore Professional Floor and Carpet Cleaner 84973

The Kenmore Professional Floor and Carpet Cleaner 84973 is a 3-in-1 cleaner, meaning it can go from carpet cleaning to bare-floor cleaning to polishing hard floor surfaces by changing brushes. Instead of using extraction to clean, this machine dispenses foam, which is worked into the fibers. As the carpet dries, the dirt rises to the surface to be vacuumed away. Testers gave mixed reviews on the unit's ease of use — some had trouble controlling it. Available only online. ($159; sears.com)

Manufacturer's warranty: One-year warranty.*

Pros
• Controls are easy to understand and use.
• Manual is complete and accurate.

Cons:
• Because it's a shampooer and not an extraction cleaner, it removed only a small amount of   dirt in our tests.
• Can distort carpet fibers more than an extraction cleaner.
• The water tank is opaque, so you can't see when you're running low on cleaning solution.
• No upholstery, stair, or hand tools included with this product.

Overview
Hyperactive dogs, kids that can’t seem to wipe their shoes after being outside, myself whenever I’m working on practically anything. Whatever. You can’t always keep your carpet free of spillages that risk ruining both the carpet and the room.

I’ve scrubbed carpets after small spillages, waited four hours with a million fans on the floor waiting for the carpet to dry.

I’ve been awake at night half expecting to find a mushroom patch on my floor the next day. It felt like a gamble, and replacing carpets is an expensive and time-consuming task.

On the recommendation of a friend, I got the BISSELL SpotBot, and I couldn’t wait for it to arrive. When it did, it was very exciting. I unboxed the machine and took to reading the manual, which I implore you to do on any machine involving water tanks and electricity. You know, just to be safe.

After 40 minutes reading, assembling, and preparing the cleaning products, I was ready to test the Spotbot on a test area, thankfully given to us by our aging dog. I placed the machine over the area, activated it and let it do its thing. Hilariously, I came back to a spot that was now cleaner than the rest of the carpet. Whoops.
It certainly does the job, though.

Now, an excellent feature about this machine is that for a lot of stains you can use very little cleaning product. You can even swap out the BISSELL brand products and use white vinegar, or other whatever else.

It’s perhaps also worth noting at this point that the machine lacks a self-heating function for water and relies on you, the user, to control water temp.

I also found that mildew on the machine itself a thing. Just wash the various parts. Run a little bleach water through it. You’ll be right back where you began with a clean machine.

Pros

Activate it and walk away!
Powerful tool
Takes a variety of cleaning products
Saves time and your carpet.
Excellent damage control in a busy, active home

Cons
No water heating
Gets mildew
Prone to creating clean spots
Fairly bulky product

Verdict

If you are prone to liquid spills on your carpet, dirt, mud, pet accidents and are sick and tired of being on your knees cleaning it all up, then the BISSELL Spotbot might be exactly what you need.

It’s not perfect, it’s a little bulky, and it needs a good clean down every month  or so – but it cleans well and that’s exactly what you should expect. Go ahead and check out what some of the customers are saying about it.

BISSELL SpotLifter 2X 1719 Portable Deep Carpet Cleaner Review

BISSELL has come out with a hand-held, cordless spot remover for those emergency stain situations. This means you can have kids, pets, and carpet without worrying about what’s going to happen to your home.

The seven inch nozzle effectively removes both stains and odors, and the battery can run at full power for 15 minutes before requiring a 12 hour charge.

What Customers Liked

The BISSELL SpotLifter 2X is small, lightweight, and easily maneuverable. Which means it works great in all types of areas. It is much easier to use on stairs than a bigger full room steam cleaner. Plus it is light enough to use on your vehicles upholstery. Try doing that with a full room version.
It effectively removes stains; good to know since that is its intended purpose. Many of the customer reviews mentioned pet stains which this machine makes short work of; just as important, it eliminates the odor that is often left behind along with the stain.
The cleaning solution can be bought anywhere BISSELL products are sold. If you are like me, you often don’t realize that you are nearly out of a product until you try to use it. Waiting for days to receive my cleaning solution would not work. In addition, it is not necessary to use the BISSELL cleaning solution. Consumers report that industrial carpet cleaning solutions often work better.
The tank is dishwasher safe. I am something of a germ-o-phobe, so the ability to put the tank in the dishwasher scores this product major bonus points.
The price point is another big hit with consumers. It is always nice to get an excellent product for a fair price.

What Customers Did Not Like

The battery takes about 24 hours to charge the first time. This can be inconvenient if you are purchasing the machine for immediate stain removal. Secondly, the battery lasts about 15 minutes at full power. Then it takes 12 hours to recharge. Imagine how frustrating it would be if the battery ran out mid-job and you had to wait 12 hours to complete the job. That is the type of thing that would drive me batty.
The dirty water holding tank is very small; this requires frequent dumping to prevent the dirty water from exiting the machine back onto your carpets. The basic rule is that before you refill the solution tank, dump the waste tank.
The battery is not replaceable which means that once the battery will no longer hold a charge, the product is useless making this a disposable product. This can be a major drawback for those interested in the environment and sustainability.

Conclusion

Considering the price point and its intended purpose, this BISSELL spot remover is still a decent investment. Most of the consumer reviews and ratings ex toll its effectiveness.

The overall feeling of the reviews is one of pleasure at having purchased this machine, with many stating they would buy it again. You can check out some of the reviews here yourself before deciding if it’s a suitable for your home
